Power-Up Thought ~ Time Management

Time is a precious gift that many of us take for granted.  Regardless of how we live out our day each of us is given the exact same 24 hours.  It is impossible to speed time up or slow it down, it is finite and we are unable to change or even manage it.  What we can do is choose to manage ourselves, so instead of time management maybe we should consider calling it self-management.

When people are asked about their daily schedule the majority respond with “I am so busy” or “there is just not enough hours in the day”.  It is easy to get caught up in the fast pace of our daily lives by allowing external events to carelessly drive our day.  When we decide to take charge of our life and actively work to “manage ourselves” we will begin to create more “time” for things that really matter.  It may mean saying no instead of yes, or limiting our to-do list, or even just reducing our schedule. Life is not a race to get as much done as possible in the least amount of time.  Life is for us to learn and enjoy so we must prioritize then determine who and what gets a portion of our valuable time. Think of it this way, if we do not take the driver’s seat in our life, I can guarantee that something or someone else will.    Be in control of your day and choose wisely as the quality of your life depends on it!

“You will never find time for anything. If you want time, you must make it.” ― Charles Buxton
